Police search for driver in fatal Brooklyn hit and run

Police are searching for the driver who struck and killed a deliveryman in Brooklyn Saturday morning and then fled the scene.

The accident happened at 2:43 a.m. at the intersection of Arlington Avenue and Hyland Place in East New York.

Officers determined via video surveillance that a dark blue Nissan sedan was traveling southbound on Hyland Place when it collided with a 22 year old male who was operating a Shenk Moped and traveling westbound on Arlington Avenue.

The operator of the moped, 22-year old Elvis Batista-Francisco of Brooklyn, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The NYPD's Highway Patrol Collision Investigation Squad is investigating the accident.
