Police search for driver who fatally struck Brooklyn deliveryman

CYPRESS HILLS

Francisco's moped was found a block away in the middle of the intersection on Highland and Futon. Investigators say he was dragged and left to die in the middle of the street.

"He left like a coward," said Teofilo Batista.

Francisco's family recently emigrated from the Dominican Republic. His family also says he was a happy person, and full of joy and life. He worked 6 days a week delivering food on his moped. When he wasn't working, he was learning English or going to church.

There are still pieces of the bike in the middle of the street. The family says they have no idea how they will pay to send Francisco's body home to the Dominican for burial.

Police are searching for a dark blue Nissan with possible front end damage.
