Triple stabbing at Stamford High School

STAMFORD, Conn.

Police say they jumped the teens, used pepper spray, and had a knife.

It happened outside Stamford High School.

News of the triple stabbing had started to spread by dismissal time, but barely. Many students at Stamford High School were completely unaware of the violence Wednesday night.

Police say the incident happened after last night's basketball game between Stamford High School and Norwalk High School.

A 19-year-old student was leaving school grounds around 9:30, walking by the football field when he was jumped by six or seven individuals.

The teen was pepper sprayed, punched, kicked and stabbed in the arm. While officers were responding, they learned of additional victims.

The two 18-year-olds, one a former student, the other a student at Westhill High School in Stamford, had been attacked in a similar manner.

Police don't believe the incidents are gang related, nor the result of high school rivalry, but they do think the victims know who's responsible.

Complicating the investigation is the fact that the victims are simply not cooperating with police.
