NJ Transit train disabled inside Hudson River tunnel

NEW JERSEY

The train had just left Penn Station when it became disabled insde a Hudson River tunnel at around 9:30 p.m.

NJ Transit says Amtrak power problems in the north tube caused the train to become stuck.

A rescue train towed the disabled train back to Penn Station.

There are no injuries and the train did not need to be evacuated.

The customers were put on the next train heading out on the Northeast Corridor from Penn Station at 11 p.m.

The disabled train was train #3887, the 9:07 p.m. departure from Penn Station.
