Medford shooting leaves 1 dead, 3 wounded

One man was killed and three others wounded in a Christmas Day shooting in Medford, Long Island.

Sixth Precinct police officers responded to a 911 call after a caller reported that masked men had entered Ray's Engine Installation, located at 33B Cedarhurst Ave., demanded money and shot four people at 3:30 a.m.

Taleik Bristel, 19, of Patchogue was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three other people were taken to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

The investigation is continuing. Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS or call the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392

Det. Lt. Jack Fitzpatrick told Newsday the victims were all friends. He says two men were shot in the back, and a woman was shot in the abdomen, Fitzpatrick said.
