A ceremony was held Wednesday to remember the two Jersey City officers who died on Christmas night eight years ago.

The gathering was held at the site where the officers' vehicle plunged from a bridge into the Hackensack River in 2005.

Two wreaths were thrown into the river to remember Officers Shawn Carson and Robert Nguyen. They were unaware that the center portion of the drawbridge had been raised.

The bridge was renamed in their honor in 2007.
