Body of kidnapped Brooklyn business owner found on Long Island

WILLIAMSBURG

Members of the Hasidic Jewish community braved the cold to comfort the family of Menachem Stark in Williamsburg.

The body of 39-year old Stark was discovered in a dumpster at a Getty gas station in Great Neck.

Authorities say Stark was abducted in front of his business on Rutledge Street in Williamsburg late Thursday night. He had just left his realty office during the snowstorm at about 11:30 p.m.

Surveillance images showed two suspects struggling with the victim and forcing him into a light-colored Dodge Caravan.

The car then took off with Stark outside. It was last seen travelling eastbound on Broadway.

Police say he may have been carrying a large amount of cash.

When his family didn't hear from him, they notified a volunteer patrol in Brooklyn's Ultra-Orthodox Jewish community, and then called the police around 2:30 a.m.

Stark's family offered a $100,000 reward for information leading to his safe return.
