Police: New Jersey woman hired to shovel sexually assaulted

KEANSBURG, N.J.

Keansburg Deputy Chief Michael Pigott tells The Asbury Park Press that the man offered the woman money for her to help him shovel, and then dragged her by her hair into a vacant house and threatened her with a handgun before sexually assaulting her.

Police say the man had approached the woman around 10:00 p.m. on Thursday, while she was helping a friend shovel snow.

Police say the victim was treated for unspecified injuries at the Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel.
