Hempstead suspects charged in violent robbery spree

HEMPSTEAD

Nassau County Police apprehended Nicholas Gardner, Deshawn Martin and Cecil Brothers, and Gardner is charged with bias crimes, as all of the victims were Hispanic.

On Nov. 25, the suspects allegedly knocked a 53-year old man to the ground, punching and kicking him before taking his wallet.

Later that night, Gardner is accused of punching a 37-year old man in the face before taking his keys.

Gardner is also accused of an incident on Dec. 4 in which he allegedly punched a man in the face and attempted to take his bicycle.

On Jan. 3, Gardner allegedly punched and attempted to rob two other victims, including a 76-year old man who was pushed to the ground, punched and kicked.

Gardner is charged with Robbery 1st degree, five counts of Robbery 2nd degree, four counts of Robbery 2nd degree (Attempt) and four counts of Assault 2nd degree.
