Crazy-eyed burglar suspect arrested in New Milford break-in

NEW MILFORD

The break-in happened between the hours of 1 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. on January 8 at the home on Henley Avenue.

The husband and wife reported they were missing multiple laptop computers, camcorder, passports, jewelry, a debit card and other personal items.

Chris Connolly, 35, was arrested Friday after authorities say he used a stolen debit card at a River Edge gas station and a 7-Eleven in Hackensack.

The homeowner discovered the card had been used at the locations when she called to cancel, and officers viewed surveillance videos and spotted a distinctive man driving a distinctive car who made purchases at both locations. He was described as a white male with long hair wearing a black jacket with a red hood, and he was operating a mid 1990s white Toyota Camry with a missing gas cap door.

An electronic broadcast message was sent to surrounding agencies to help identify the suspect and his vehicle, and police in Paramus advised they had arrested Connolly on New Year's Eve for drug possession and that he and his vehicle matched the description.

He was arrested at his home and is charged with burglary, theft, receiving stolen property, credit card theft, theft of legal documents, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail was set at $50,000
