22-year old Paul Batterson, Jr. of East Moriches was apprehended Saturday night and is charged with second-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of Francisco Pirir.
Officers were called to a home on East Moriches Blvd. on Dec. 8th after a 911 caller reported that two masked men broke into the house, announced a robbery, and shot two men.
The suspects fled the scene.
Pirir, 45, a resident of the home, was killed, while a second male resident was shot in the hand and treated and released from a local hospital.
