Car crashes into Pathmark in Irvington

IRVINGTON, New Jersey

Cleanup crews are on the scene and building inspectors are on site to make sure the building is safe.

The Lincoln Continental slammed into the store after the driver apparently suffered a heart attack behind the wheel of the car, and slammed into the supermarket.

The male victim was rushed to the hospital.

The driver was known in the area, and many people who were in the area knew who he was.

"He had just left here with his wife for shopping and he must have forgotten something because he came back. He had just gotten out of the hospital a week ago," said Harold Jeter.

Two cashiers were also injured and transported to the hospital with unknown condition.

The investigation continues.
