2 women attacked on street in Stamford

STAMFORD

According to police, the two, ages 25 and 30, were walking home from a bar area at about 2:30 a.m. Sunday.

As they walked north on Bedford Street, they were approached by a man asking for directions.

Suddenly, he punched one of the women, knocking her out, causing multiple lacerations to her face and the loss of a tooth.

Police say the suspect then attacked the second woman, trying to take her purse and initiating a sexual assault by putting his hand down her pants.

Both victims sustained blackened, closed eyes.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male with a thick Spanish accent, in his mid 20s, about 5 foot 7, wearing a winter fleece black jacket. Police are checking surveillance in the area.
