Valley Stream family handcuffed during home invasion robbery

Police on Long Island are searching for two dangerous suspects behind a violent home invasion robbery.

The incident happened just before 1 p.m. on Cumberland Place in Valley Stream.

Authorities say the suspects pushed their way inside the home and forced a 53-year-old man and his 21-year-old daughter onto the floor.

After robbing and ransacking the house, they handcuffed the victims to an oil tank in the basement.

The first suspect is described as being 5-foot-11 and weighing 230 pounds. He was wearing a mask and armed with a semi-automatic hand gun.

The second suspect was also about 5-foot-11 but weighed around 170 pounds.

They stole assorted items, including cash and jewelry from the home, before fleeing in an unknown direction.

There were no injuries reported.
