He was roundly criticized last week for issuing a hazardous travel advisory and asking people to stay off the streets - but not closing the schools. Asking kids not to walk on the street, but somehow make it to school.
If New York City gets the 6-10 inches of snow that's predicted as of this hour, then keeping schools open might not be much of an option. We'll see. Meanwhile, Meteorologist Lee Goldberg is tracking this latest system, and he'll have the latest, tonight at 11.
And we're sending our N.J. Burkett out into the streets of New York, where snow and ice are still piled high, garbage sits frozen in bags, and older folks are having a hard time navigating the mounds of snow to get to buses.
