Brooklyn cell thieves who took automatically-uploaded selfies caught

NEW YORK

Tyquan Solomon, 19, and 16-year-old Terrance Sistrunk were taken into custody and charged in connection to a series of robberies which occurred in January and February in and around Fort Greene Park.

Police say the pair robbed a 22-year-old man around 1 a.m on Sunday, February 2, at the northeast corner of Auburn Place and North Portland Avenue.

The suspects displayed what the believed to be a black handgun and demanded his property.

They took $205 and the victim's iPhone. Later that afternoon, the victim checked his iCloud account and discovered photos that the suspects took of themselves.

The victim, who lives in Brooklyn, notified police of the photos.

Detectives then used the photos to identify and arrest Solomon and Sistrunk.

They are each charged with five counts of robbery.
