Annual New York Toy show

NEW YORK

Eyewitness News got our first look at some of the toys which are expected to some of the most popular this year.

The toys were shown off at the annual toy fair here in New York City.

It could be considered the Super Bowl of the toy industry.

"We actually have over 7 1/2 football fields filled with toys and games here the Javits Center," said Adrienne Appell with the Toy Industry Association.

Things dreamed up by more than 1,100 vendors from around the world at the New York International Toy Fair as buyers get a sneak peak at all of the goodies that are out there, so they can decided what to stock their stores shelves with and in turn you can buy.

A big trend this year, toys that relate to science, technology, engineering, the arts and math. "A lot of really cool toys that are going to reach kids but engage them, robots, science experiments, not the flash cards I needed to learn with when I was a kid," adds Appell.
