74-year-old man attacked by four in Brooklyn

NEW YORK

A 74-year-old man is so highly sedated at Kings County Hospital that his family doesn't even know if he hears them crying at his bedside.

His daughter asked Eyewitness News to hide her face and not use her dad's name, fearing for their safety.

"He's in critical condition, he's not able to say anything, he has a tube in his throat, bleeding on the brain, and a broken collar bone," the victim's daughter said.

Police released surveillance video of the four men they believe are responsible for this brutal attack.

They say the teens savagely beat and robbed the elderly man Saturday evening near his home at the Van Dyke Houses in Brownsville.

"When he got off the elevator they attacked him, they beat him over the head. The doctor said it looked as if he was beat with a metal object," the victim's daughter said.

The suspects stole the father of three and grandfather of two's wallet. In it was $150 in cash, credit cards, and his driver's license.

Neighbors are at a loss for words.

"Oh boy, this is heartbreaking. I'm going to go in the house," a neighbor said.

"I am disgusted about what happened to my father. I want them to be caught and be punished for what they did," the victim's daughter said.
