Crews began working Monday night to mill and replace two inches of pavement in all four northbound lanes of I-87/I-287 in Rockland County between mile marks 16.2 and 16.5
Crews will work between the hours of 7 p.m. and 6 a.m., ending Wednesday morning.
The New York Thruway Authoriity says intense winter weather and the freeze/thaw cycle have created a significant pothole problem on the roadway north of the bridge, as well as other areas along the 570 mile Thruway.
On Monday night, the two right-hand lanes will be closed for pavement repairs until 6 a.m. on Tuesday. The two left-hand lanes will be closed for the same duration from Tuesday evening into Wednesday.
