Tuckahoe teacher accused of stealing from fund-raisers

TUCKAHOE

Authorities say 41-year old Dorothy Lepore, a teacher at Tuckahoe High School, stole money raised by student organizations.

She allegedly took over $26,000 that was raised in 2013 and instead of depositing the proceeds in appropriate accounts, used it for her own purposes.

Lepore surrendered to the Eastchester Police Department Wednesday morning and was released on her own recognizance.

If convicted, she could receive a maximum sentence of seven years in state prison.
