Family and friends will gather Friday to bid a final farewell to a family killed in a massive house fire in New Jersey last week.

Funeral services will be held for Bishop William Pickett, wife Eula Mae Pickett and their two adult sons, Thomas and Curtis, at the Mount Olive Baptist Church in Jersey City.

"He was just a likable, lovable guy," neighbor Carolyn Oliver-Fair said. "This is absolutely devastating. It's a tragic loss for the community."

The four died when a fire tore through their home on Grant Avenue.

Five other homes were damaged.

There is still no word on the cause of the fire.

Mayor Steven Fulop says firefighters were initially sent to Grand Street, nearly three miles away from Grant Avenue. He said it took firefighters 7 to 8 minutes to get to the scene instead of the usual 3 to 4 minutes because the dispatcher misunderstood the 911 caller.
