Plane lands safely at LaGuardia with windshield crack

NEW YORK

GoJet Airlines Flight 6301, a repositioning flight with no passengers on board, from St. Louis to New York-LaGuardia, experienced a thin windshield crack while enroute.

Ron Marsico, a spokesman for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, says the pilot and co-pilot were ferrying the plane to New York for a later flight.

The aircraft remained fully pressurized, but out of an abundance of caution the pilot elected to descend to 10,000 feet and declare an emergency while landing.

The aircraft landed safely at LaGuardia and taxied normally to the gate. The plane has been taken out of service for maintenance.

GoJet is a Delta Connection carrier.
