Up Close: Ukraine crisis

NEW YORK

That peninsula is now controlled by Russia, and there are fears that Russia could go further, taking over all of Ukraine and possibly its neighbors.

President Obama announced a new and expanded set of sanctions last week against Russia and its key officials.

But Russian president Vladimir Putin shows no sign of stepping back.

This week we are joined by Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy, who serves on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and is chairman of the subcommittee on European allies.

Also with us: outgoing New York City Sanitation Commissioner John Doherty, who is stepping down March 28th after 16 years heading the city's sanitation department.

Finally, if you don't have health insurance coverage right now, you need to mark March 31st on your calendar.

That's the deadline for open enrollment under the new health care law.

Joining us to explain more about what the deadline means is Lois Uttley, director of Raising Women's Voices NY and a member of the steering committee of health care for all of New York.
