Authorities say a man has been charged in the murder of a Kean University student found beaten to death in the backyard of a New Brunswick home.

Timothy Puskas, 38, of New Brunswick is accused of killing William McCaw, 22, of Gallatin, Tenn.

Puskas is already being held at the Middlesex County Corrections Center after being arrested last week in a separate case in Milltown.

Bail has been set at $5 million.

McCaw's body was found in the backyard of a house on Hartwell Street on February 15th.

Investigators said McCaw previously attended Rutgers University and would return to New Brunswick to visit friends.

It also was determined that the victim had no known connection to the residents of the property where his body was discovered.
