A funeral was held for 15-year-old Kristjan Ndoj at St. Joseph's Church on Fairmont Place in Shelton.
Church bells rang and hundreds of people gathered for the service.
Relatives from Kristjan Ndoj's native Albania and many of his classmates attended the service, which included songs and scripture readings in both English and Albanian.
Ndoj died last Thursday after he was shot in the head and leg in a friend's driveway five days earlier.
No one has been charged in his death.
Police say Ndoj was threatened over a girl just days before the shooting.
Mourners remembered the teen at a wake on Wednesday.
Kristjan was born in Lac, Albania, on September 12, 1998. He was a sophomore at Shelton High School.
Kristjan's relatives are pleading with people to come forward with information on the shooting.
"My family hurts so bad, so please, if you know something, please call police," his uncle told WFSB-TV.
Kristjan's family described him as a friendly, good-hearted and smart boy who loved to play soccer. They called his death a senseless act of violence.
Relatives carried Kristjan's casket into St. Joseph's Church as the service began. Monsignor Chris Walsh told mourners that Kristjan's grandmother urged him to stay home the night of the shooting, the Connecticut Post reported.
Walsh said people should remember Kristjan's kindness and do good to others.
Shelton High School Headmaster Beth Smith told the crowd that Kristjan was living proof of the good in this word.
Fellow students are honoring Kristjan's memory by doing random acts of kindness.
Kristjan was buried at Mount St. Peter's Cemetery in Hamden.
