Man brings strawberries to movies, cops called

NEW YORK

But one movie goer learned the hard way that theatre owners weren't joking.

Michael Kass doesn't seem like the kind of guy who breaks the rules.

Last Sunday, he walked into the Pavilion Movie Theatre in Park Slope, Brooklyn with contraband, a bag of strawberries.

With what happened to him after that, you'd think he was a criminal.

"I never in a million years thought they would call the police and waste police times and resources over something this silly," Kass said.

Bass says he had the strawberries because he's a type 2 diabetic who has to watch his sugar intake.

There's no comment from the theatre management, but Bass says he was told the theater will offer healthier foods.
