Nassau SPCA announces rewards, website to fight animal cruelty

The Nassau County SPCA reports an increase in animal abuse cases, sparking increased efforts to fight animal cruelty.

In response, the SPCA is launching a new web site that allows people to report abuse. goes live Monday.

The agency will also offer rewards for reports of animal cruelty.

Officials will hold a press conference Monday, accompanied by Miss Harper, a brutally-injured puppy, to announce $5,000 rewards to anyone who reports an incident of dog fighting and $1,000 rewards to anyone reporting an incident of animal cruelty that leads to arrest and conviction.
