Police say a tractor trailer struck a man who was on the shoulder with his vehicle at about 1:15 p.m.
Authorities say the victim was standing next to a vehicle that had been pulled over to the shoulder, and he was pronounced dead a short time later.
He has been identified as Izhak Shvarz, and had a Florida driver's license.
But it's still not known why the vehicle was there, or how long it had been on the shoulder.
Ramps from I-80 to the express lanes are also closed due to the investigation.
