And they say this year's celebration will go on despite a recent scandal.
Much of the old parade leadership was forced out after a state investigation uncovered years of alleged money mismanagement.
A new board is now in place.
And they say they have made changes, to return the parade to its roots.
"Our goal is to make this more of a cultural, educational event," said Rosa Gutierrez, the parade's treasurer and executive board member. "We're focusing on the culture, making it a family friendly event and focusing on the important history of Puerto Rico."
Along with the change in leadership, the organizers have unveiled a new parade logo and set up a new website.
There you can also apply to march in the celebration on June 8th.
