According to a statement from Suffolk County Police, Jose Umanzor crashed his 2001 Honda Civic in Brentwood Wednesday afternoon. He was driving in a parking lot at 801 Crooked Hill Road, when he tried to make a U-turn and backed into an unoccupied vehicle, police said.
Neither Umanzor, nor his daughter who was in the car at the time, was injured. She was released to the custody of a family member.
Umanzor, 34, of Brentwood, was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child 15 years old or younger and endangering the welfare of a child. He is scheduled to be arraigned April 10.
