Inappropriate tweets

April 14, 2014

Two inappropriate posts - involving airlines - raising eyebrows and concern.

Someone, using the US Airways Twitter account, sent a triple-x rated picture out for the world to see. It was, to put it mildly, pretty gross. US Airways apologizing, but it provides a glaring example of how easy it is for something to go viral when it wasn't supposed to be posted.

We will NOT be posting the photo.

The other case - a 14 year old girl sent a terrorist tweet to American Airlines. She's now been arrested in the Netherlands. Why she'd do that, who knows? Why would anyone post any of this stuff?

But it does provide a warning for all of us. And a good lesson, as we Tweet and Facebook and Instagram our stories out to promote our newscasts.

With that in mind, I hope you can join us tonight at 11. We'll have any breaking news of the night, plus the latest on that 13 year old boy in Brooklyn in the hospital - the innocent and random victim of a shooting. Plus Meteorologist Jeff Smith (in for Lee Goldberg) with his AccuWeather forecast, and Rob Powers with the night's sports.

I hope you can join Sade Baderinwa and me, tonight at 11.
