Man arrested for arson in Water Mill fire

A man has been charged with arson in a house fire that started early Saturday morning at a home in Water Mill.

Around 6 a.m., Southampton Town Police received a call that a home on Dune Road in Water Mill was on fire. Several fire departments were necessary to put out the fire which had engulfed the home.

At 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Southampton Town Detectives arrested David Osiecki, 54, of Sagaponack, on one count of arson in connection with the fire. He was also charged with arson related to a brush fire in the Bridgehampton-Hayground area.

He was held overnight at Southampton Town Police Department and will be arraigned Sunday.
