Hawaiian Airlines wheel well mystery

April 21, 2014

Right.

I have as much confidence in the claims that a 16-year-old boy hid in the wheel well of a plane from California to Hawaii and survived.

Except that all parties involved, Hawaiian Airlines, the FBI, the airports, everyone all say it happened.

That means of course that he had to survive the lack of oxygen at 35,000 or so feet, the minus 35 to minus 50 degrees outside, and not falling out while the plane was cruising at several hundred miles an hour for several hours.

Doesn't happen very often; in fact, three out of every four stowaways doesn't survive the flight But this boggles the mind. We'll have the latest, tonight at 11.

Also at 11, and also involving a teenager, we're supposed to hear from the 13-year-old boy who was shot in the face last week on the streets of Brooklyn. This innocent bystander has proved to be such a brave, calm and wise young man. Jim Dolan, who talked to the boy on the phone last week, is on the story for us tonight. The boy is expected to talk from the hospital in Brooklyn where he's recovering.

We'll also have any breaking news of the night, plus Lee Goldberg's AccuWeather forecast, and Rob Powers with the night's sports.

I hope you can join Sade Baderinwa and me, tonight at 11.
