Police release images of Queens serial groper

LONG ISLAND CITY

Authorities say the man struck four times on Tuesday morning in busy areas, twice in Long Island City and once each in Woodside and Astoria.

Police said the man typically walks up to the victims, tried to talk to them and then grabbed their buttocks over their clothing.

The youngest victim was just 14. /p>

The first incident happened around 6:40 a.m. at Northern Boulevard and 57th Street, where a 23-year-old woman was groped.

He then struck again about an hour later, touching a 25-year-old woman at a Rite Aid on Steinway Street.

Twenty minutes later, a 16-year-old was attacked on 35th Avenue, and the 14-year-old was groped about 20 minutes after that on 31st Avenue.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his mid to late 30s, about 6 feet tall and weighing 220 to 250 pounds.

On Friday, some Astoria residents were wary. "I have my phone on me all the time ... I have mace," said Andrea Giovinazzo.

Women took mental note, trying to stay extra safe as they headed out for errands or walks to school.

"I haven't seen him, but if I do ... I would make sure to report it, said Debbie Fanelli.

Chloe Steele, of Astoria, said, "It's disrespectful and it's really creepy."

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS (8477).
