Former Nassau officer admits to sexual trysts while on duty

MINEOLA, N.Y.

Michael Tedesco pleaded guilty in Nassau County Court on Monday to 75 counts of official misconduct.

The former Nassau officer was sentenced to 100 hours of community service. He also forfeited a $195,000 termination package and will pay about $3,700 in restitution for pay he received while spending time at the women's homes.

Prosecutors say Tedesco intentionally failed to update the police department on his whereabouts. They say he was spending up to six hours at the women's homes. He also was accused of lingering at the homes during emergency calls.

Tedesco retired in 2012.
