The New Jersey State Police say the westbound extension of the New Jersey Turnpike has reopened outside of the Holland Tunnel after a sinkhole caused earlier delays.

The work was expected to take over 12 hours, but crews fixed the sinkhole in about 2 hours.

For real-time information about traffic conditions in the area, motorists should call 511 from a hands-free cell phone or download the SafeTrip NJ app for their iPhone or Android device.
