Security gate falls on woman in Kew Gardens

KEW GARDENS, Queens (WABC) -- A rolling security gate fell off of a building in Queens injuring a 63-year-old woman.

It happened on 147th Street at Union Turnpike in Kew Gardens just after 5 p.m. Friday.

The victim was rushed to the hospital with pain to her head and shoulders.

Fire officials responded to the scene to check the integrity of the security gates on neighboring storefronts.

The Department of Buildings is investigating the incident.
