Driver in custody after bicyclist struck, critically injured during bike tour

BOROUGH PARK, Brooklyn (WABC) -- Police say a driver is in custody after a bicyclist was struck and critically injured in Brooklyn Sunday during the NYC Century Bike Tour.

The 31-year-old driver of a Dodge sedan was pulling out of a parking space when he struck at least two bicyclists at 12th Avenue and 39th Street in Borough Park, police said.

A 55-year-old woman was critically injured. A 31-year-old man refused medical attention.

The NYPD Collision Investigation Unit has been called to the scene.
