Extra police will be patrolling several schools in New Jersey Monday after an attempted luring last week.

School administrators in Tenafly say a fifth grader reported being approached by a male teenager Friday night.

The 11-year-old said she was near the Stillman Elementary School playground at Windsor and Tenafly roads when the older teen with short asked her to come with him around 9:30 p.m.

She refused and ran away.

The predator has not been found.

Authorities remind parents to make sure their children know not to speak with strangers and to never approach any person in a car that they do not know.

The extra officers will be patrolling school zones.
