Billy Joel delivers comencement address at Hicksville High School
Sandra Bookman has the story.

HICKSVILLE, Long Island (WABC) -- Billy Joel went back to school on Long Island Saturday.

The Hicksville High School choir sang Joel's hit 'The Longest Time' at their graduation ceremony. The Piano Man delivered the commencement address to his alma mater's class of 2017.

The 68-year-old rock and roll Hall-of-Famer was supposed to receive his diploma 50 years ago in 1967, but was one credit short.

"I know I didn't graduate because I didn't have the English credit. I didn't fail English, I just didn't go," Joel said.

All jokes aside, Billy Joel did finally graduate and get his diploma in 1992.
