BROOKLYN (WABC) -- The "Marvel Universe" live show opens Wednesday night at Brooklyn's Barclays Center, an early stop on a tour that will take it to arenas in 85 U.S. cities over the course of two years.

Part of the fun of the Marvel movies is watching a group of your favorite superheroes get together to fight evil, but different movie studios have the rights to use various characters, which means there is only one way fans can see all of them in one show.

"Marvel Universe Live is the first and only place where you can see The Avengers, Spiderman, and members of The X-Team come together," said producer Juliette Feld.

She comes from a long line of impresarios.

"I grew up around Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus and Disney On Ice, and I've always had a love for it. You know I'm very lucky because I get to work alongside my dad and my sister," said Feld.

Today she's in charge of a show so elaborate, it takes an army to stage it and dozens of big trucks to move from the Meadowlands to Barclays Center.

"I had the pleasure of seeing it being built over the last four years," said performer Madison Embrey, who just graduated from Manhattan's Pace University.

"To know that I'm going to be in the arena performing for audiences, it's indescribable how that feels," she said.

Performers are expected to do their own stunts and unlike in the movies, there's no 'computer generated' imagery here.

"What you see is what's happening right before your eyes," said Feld.

Making it happen took two full years. "Creating this show was a challenge because we were working with a lot of new technology, and we were working with characters,

some that have never been live action before and with super powers!", she said.

Those super-powerful Marvel characters are owned and licensed by Disney, the parent company of ABC7.

"Marvel Universe Live" runs at Barclays Center through Sunday, then moves to the Nassau Coliseum on Long Island next Thursday.
