'Avengers: Age of Ultron' set to premiere
Entertainment reporter Sandy Kenyon has a look at the long-awaited sequel to the first Avengers movie.

NEW YORK -- Nothing like a blockbuster to bring all ages together from so many different walks of life, and that's just what happened at the New York City premiere of Avengers: Age of Ultron.

"You know it's cool because it's generational. Everyone's taking everyone to go be a part of it," 50 Cent said. "Look, look at that. That audience is gonna be here when they're our age bringing other people in."

The team of superheros has found strength in numbers, the whole greater than the sum of its parts. The result was an astounding box office success for the first film. The Avengers is the third most popular movie of all time.

"Well, I don't think any of us really expected how huge the first one would be so it can almost intimidate you a bit," Robert Downey Jr., who reprises his role as Tony Stark aka Iron Man, said.

If he's intimidated, imagine how the younger actors must feel signing on to the sequel.

"Something on this scale you're like a little cog in a great big machine," Aaron Taylor Johnson, who plays Peitro Maximoff, said.

The size of the movie can overwhelm even experienced actors.

"Yes, when I drove in my first day of work and my trailer was actually bigger than some of the studios I've shot movies in," Mark Ruffalo (Bruce Banner/The Hulk) said.

The sequel is titled Age of Ultron, named for a villain created by accident in Tony Stark's lab with a voice provided by James Spader.

The special effects are so elaborate only director Joss Whedon has the whole picture in his head. Nobody is more excited to see the finished movie than the stars who are in it.

"When I go see a movie for the first time, I'm like a 7-year-old boy, like 'Oh my goodness, I'm in this movie?'" Jeremy Renner, who's back as Hawkeye, said. "It's fantastic. Just from the opening sequence of this thing. I mean it's awesome. It doesn't let up. It's pretty great."

Avengers: Age of Ultron opens in theaters everywhere on Friday with limited showings on Thursday evening.

Disney is the parent company of both Marvel and this station.
