Patricia Arquette celebrated Oscar nomination with stranger
"I grabbed this kid next to me and I said, 'I got nominated for an Academy Award!' And he looked at me like, he was like, 'No you didn't.'"

When talking about her best actress Oscar nomination for her role in "Boyhood" on Monday, Patricia Arquette revealed that she celebrated the news with a total stranger.

Arquette, 46, told the tale to attendees of the Academy Awards Nominees Luncheon, an annual event celebrating the nominees.

The veteran actress said that her first-ever nomination left her in a daze that she didn't snap out of until days later, while having a meal out with her boyfriend, artist Eric White.

"It was so surreal. I really felt like I was in a weird dream, like this elongated dream. Two days later we were at a restaurant and my boyfriend went to the bathroom and I seem to have woken up while he left," Arquette said.

"I grabbed this kid next to me and I said, 'I got nominated for an Academy Award!' And he looked at me like, he was like, 'No you didn't.' I was like, 'I know, can you believe it?! Google it! Look, let's check it. Google it!' He checked it. I mean, he was like, 'Oh my God, you got nominated!' I was like, 'I know! Isn't it crazy?! Can you believe it?!'"

While she might be getting used to being an Oscar nominee, Arquette said she remains overwhelmed. When asked how she might feel at the Oscars, Arquette kept her goal simple: To stay conscious.

"I mean, I hope I don't faint ... just walking in (to the luncheon) I felt like the grownup version of a kid going to Disneyland," she said.
