Los Angeles (WABC) -- Chris Soules' search for love on the 19th season of The Bachelor is coming to a critical point, as four women will bring him to their hometowns to meet their families.
And this is after Chris brought six ladies to Iowa to see how they'd fit into life on the farm.
He sat down with Eyewitness News entertainment reporter Sandy Kenyon to talk about the experience.
The audience for "The Bachelor" has grown steadily for the past month as the Iowa farmer has attracted more viewers and breathed new life into the franchise.
As a farmer, Chris didn't have to do much public speaking. But as "The Bachelor," he had to get comfortable with baring his soul in front of tens of millions of people.
"Mentally, being prepared to do something like that is out of my comfort zone," he said.
But that was not the toughest task he faced.
"The toughest thing was actually sending girls home," he said. "I know that was going to be hard, but emotionally that was the toughest part, because of the quality of the women."
The remaining women faced their own particular challenge, wondering what their life would be like as his mate after visiting the small town in Iowa that Chris calls home.
Looking back, Chris he had really strong feelings for a handful of women.
So did it help narrow the field considering the fact that his wife has to live with him on the farm in Arlington?
"It definitely plays into the decision making process," he said. "Obviously, though, I am willing to compromise."
He wouldn't spoil the surprise by saying if he did, in fact, have to compromise. But after watching previous contestant Andi Dorfman explain why she broke up with fiance Josh Murray, who she found on the show, reminds us of how few contestants actually walk down the aisle.
The big question everyone has for Chris is does he think he found his wife?
"I hope so," he said. "I am pretty confident that I have found someone that is really important to me, and it's worked out really well. And I'm in love, I can tell you that."
Chris said he's been spending time with the woman he chose in private at a secret location. The producers arrange for these visits and take great care to keep the couple out of sight, but while they are inside together for the weekend, Chris and his lady are left alone.
