MERCED, Calif. -- New mommy, Elizabeth Cervantes, has her hands full with two beautiful babies. Little Lucy arrived first and weighed just over five pounds, while her slightly bigger brother Luis came in at six pounds, nine ounces.

"It was surprising, I didn't expect it. I feel happy though, I finally have a girl," said Elizabeth Cervantes, mother.

Elizabeth Cervantes and her husband Ruben have three little boys at home, including fraternal twins Roman and Robert. The parents say their double-double deliveries were even unprecedented for the doctor.

"I believe I was his first patient that had back to back twins," said Elizabeth, "so yeah it's pretty rare, and I really didn't think that was possible."

Luckily, this family knows a thing or two about multiple babies. Ruben has two sets of fraternal twins on his side of the family, and Elizabeth's cousin has identical six year olds, Dylan and Dustin.

"I tried to help her out and give her some of the insights," said Jasmine Moore, cousin, "I mean I only have one set, she has two sets now so she's like expert at this, but we talk, we text, we keep in contact and help each other out."

Jasmine Moore says the most important thing is to get the babies on a similar schedule, and to stock up with plenty of diapers.

"She had this stack of diapers from floor to ceiling, and I said 'Beth, that is only going to get you through the first three months!'" said Jasmine.

Elizabeth knows there will also be twice as much laundry, feeding, and crying -- but she's excited to get her newest bundles of joy back home to her boys.

"They're ready for us to be in the car and on the way already," Elizabeth said.
