NEW YORK (WABC) -- Want to do something good for your skin during the heat of summer? We have some interesting treatments that you probably have never had.

So you're sweating, and maybe sunbathing, and swimming, and in the process, you might be neglecting your skin.

Eyewitness News tried out three unusual treatments that give your skin some love.

"Breathe easy; salt therapy is just like a day at the beach," said Ellen Patrick, of Breathe Easy.

But instead of sand, here you walk on salt it's also on the walls and in the air.

"This room is filled with Himalayan salt, it comes from Pakistan," Patrick said.

The Breathe Easy Salt Room is located at Oasis Day Spa. The salt is antibacterial, antiviral, and anti-inflammatory.

"So you sit in a chair for 45 minutes, relaxing, and breathing in deeply," Patrick said.

At Ling Spa they put charcoal right on your face.

"Charcoal has 200-300 times they can absorb the impurities," said Ling Chang, of Ling Spa.

Impurities like pigments and chlorine, so after some time in the pool consider a charcoal facial.

Ling first cleanses the skin, then it's time for the charcoal mask mixed with ground rice and mint.

"We make it cool feeling, it's perfect for the summer heat," Chang said.

The mask takes 10 minutes to dry and it peels off in one piece, leaving you with glowing skin.

If you spend the summer in sandals, you may want to treat your feet at Haven Spa.

"I know a lot of us neglect them, so guava is really going to help you with that," said Ella Bruce, of Haven Spa.

It's the guava pedicure begins with a coconut and guava soak.

From there's it's an exfoliating guava scrub and a massage with guava butter.

"It's an anti-aging pedicure rich with vitamin C; the guava itself has anti-oxidants," Bruce said.

The vitamin C helps combat sun damage and a guava drink rounds out the experience as polish is applied.

A session in the Salt Room is $40; the guava pedicure is $45, and the 90-minute charcoal facial which is $260.
