Caramel apples recalled because they may contain peanuts

Tastee Apple Inc. has recalled a caramel apple, causing Stop & Shop supermarkets to remove them from its shelves.

Tastee says its caramel apples may contain peanuts, but that the product is safe for those without peanut allergies.

The product is marked: Tastee Caramel Apple, 3 oz., UPC 3526600027 with a best by date of 9/29/15

Stop & Shop has received no reports of illnesses to date. Customers should discard the product and bring their receipt to Stop & Shop for a refund.
