New beauty bars offer quick, affordable treatments

NEW YORK CITY (WABC) -- Forget the private room for that skin treatment. Beauty bars are popping up in spots that are pretty visible, offering quick affordable treatments.

At Ling Face Bar, you can get a 30-minute energy lift in a full view of passers by.

They'll customize a blend for your skin, and then use a tourmaline device that emits far-infrared energy. Consider it the good part of the sun's rays.

It's not a bad way to spend $50 and a half hour. The warming sensation feels great, and you forget that there's someone right next to you and that people can see right in.

The Peel Bar is located inside the Butterfly Studio Salon in the Flatiron. Consider it an off-shoot of Dr. Neal Schultz's Park Avenue dermatology office. There, the glycolic peel is $225. At the bar, it's just $39. And you're still in good hands even without the doctor.

The peel is potent, and dead skin is gone within two minutes. The truth is that it takes longer to get into the building and up the stairs than to have an actual treatment, which is why you may want to get one of your own.
