Last-minute ideas for New Year's Eve
Lauren Glassberg has some ideas for New Year's Eve, including the Midnight Run in Central Park.

NEW YORK (WABC) -- Haven't made plans for New Year's Eve yet? This is New York City so there are still a lot of great and interesting options out there.

And these aren't the typical New Year's parties with a loud DJ and big crowds.

But they still offer a great way to usher in the New Year and some of the options will even help to get your year off to a healthy start.

Our first option happens in Central Park.

Lace up your sneakers and start running.

This will be the 36th year for the New York Road Runners Midnight run. It's a four-mile route that will inspire you.

"It's not just a run, it's a party, big fireworks show, live music, after 20, 30, 40 minutes, however long it takes you run those four miles, there's a three hour festival of fun!" said Chris Weiller, of the New York Road Runners.

And this year, you can wear a resolution bib. You write down your resolution and hope you can keep it long past the finish line.

There's no finish line at the resolution ride at Soul Cycle. It begins 10:30 at night and will last a whopping 90 minutes.

"Anytime you decide to do 90 minutes of any form of exercise it's a challenge. It's also incredibly empowering to know that if you set your mind to something you can accomplish it," said Melanie Griffith, of Soul Cycle.

That's got to be an invigorating way to ride into the New Year.

Another physical, albeit less sweaty New Year's Eve option is to cross the Brooklyn Bridge on a guided tour by New York Talks and Walks. You'll learn the history of the bridge and about some of the sights.

This is actually the 20th year for this New Year's Eve Brooklyn Bridge tour. The first year only one person showed up, but this year 200 people are expected. There are enough tour guides to go around making sure it's still an intimate experience.

You can see the bridge from an amazing vantage on board The Zephyr. The boat leaves from Pier 16 and provides dinner, dancing, cash bar, and incomparable views at midnight.

"When this boat turns around and goes into the harbor and you see downtown Manhattan fully lit, you see the fireworks going off at midnight, it's an exciting place to be," said Brian McCabe, of NY Water Taxi.

The guided tour is the least expensive starting at $50, while The Zephyr dinner cruise is $250 per person.
