Selfie apps allow for picture-perfect photos
Lauren Glassberg has the details!

NEW YORK (WABC) -- Everyone is taking selfies these days, but if that image looks a bit too picture perfect, it may well be thanks to a variety of apps on the market.

Mashable's Lance Ulanoff is impressed by what you can do and the number of options available.

Eyewitness News played around with four of the apps, and the first is Face Tune. It's the only one we tested that charges a fee, and for $3.99, you can wipe away blemishes and lines by simply wiping the screen. You can also stretch your face if need be.

Upload a photo to Perfect365, and it will add eyeliner, eye shadow, lip gloss and even get you ready for Halloween.

You Cam Perfect detects aspects of your face, allowing you to instantly smooth lines, give yourself a tan or enhance features.

Photo Editor also delineates key features and then allows you to apply virtual make up.

The apps can be a little addictive, which is something to keep in mind when it comes to teens or tweens using them. Some allow you to change your entire body, getting taller or slimmer, and it's possible to get carried away.

The tools are fun, but they're fantasy, not real. So it's important to keep in mind that they are for entertainment purposes only.
